ORPINGTON & DISTRICT P.S.F.A. 5 MAIDSTONE P.S.F.A. 0
(Daniels Trophy Final)

In the final game of the season, Orpington dominated from start to finish against a Maidstone side that tried to play football and created chances themselves later in the game. Orpington took the lead early on when Nathan slotted home after a good run. Some scintillating football followed, but it was not until late in the half that the lead was extended. The ball was played back from a crowded penalty area to Taylor, who chipped the ball wide to the right for Sean to hit a stunning volley into the far corner of the net. Just before half time a combination of Nathan and Sean ensured that Orpington held a 3-0 lead at the interval. Soon after the restart it was 4-0 - Taylor firing in a penalty after Ollie had been brought down when looked set to score. A fifth goal followed when Nathan nonchalantly lobbed the goalkeeper and there were many other fine shots from Charli, Nathan, Bradley and Jonathan, prompted by excellent approach play from Ben, Jack and George. Maidstone pressed more towards the end of the game, but a first clean sheet of the season was achieved by great defending from Jordan, Jay and Liam in front of an impressive performance from Billy.
