On a glorious Spring day, Saturday 22nd March, we entertained Croydon at Cockmannings Lane in a Lester Finch Trophy match.

We found ourselves a goal down early on, but soon fought back, forcing numerous corners. From one of these Keir Beckett sent a great header into the Croydon net to level the scores. By half time we had established a 2-1 lead. A good passing move releasing James Keyworth who finished well.

To our delight we made it 3-1 in the second half when Matthew Hooker superbly volleyed home from a throw in. But throw-ins were also our undoing. Croydon had a long throw specialist and they grabbed two goals from this tactic to even the match at 3-3. This is how it finished.

This was once again a most pleasing team performance with everyone making a good contribution in a highly entertaining match. Well played lads.
